I'm using Gnome 3 on Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. The issue is reproduceable all the time. if i want to reorder my playlist in the player a window pops up. (picture attached)
As stated on the roadmap (http://trac.wxwidgets.org/wiki/Roadmap) there is a GTK+ 3 port in progress. Ubuntu currently has version 2.8 in repositories. So I guess 3.0 will solve this issue...
Does it happen only with GNOME Shell? A (not very convenient) workaround would be to arrange your layout in environment that works, save it, and open it in the one you use.
Yeah, the layouts are fine. It is rearranging the playlist order or dragging and dropping a track into the playlist window that crashes the player. By the way logging out of gnome shell and starting a gnome 3 fallback session does not have this problem.
Please allow me to add a detail. It may be relevant. I often face another bug just before the crash.
System : ubuntu 11.10, Gnome 3, Gnome shell, Guayadeque built from svn (1701) Context : music playing Description of the bug :
When the music is playing, I want to skip a track (using the "next song" button), the music change but the higlight stays on the previously played song. It doesn't happen all the time. But if I try to change the order of the songs in the queue after this bug, the crash always happens.
hi there i just run a BT for you and i get the same problem ! hope this helps :-) I am using ubuntu 11.10 and 12.04 both with gnome-shell 3.2 :-) cheers and great job on the new look :-)
hi hi :-) i just upgrade to gnome-shell 3.3.2 and this is still happening when you drag and drop songs or try to re-arrange play cue list ! loving the new design :-)
I tried to install gnome shell but its not compatible with nvidia 7300 Go video card :( but looks like a compatibility problem between wxWidgets and gnome shell
Just tried gnome-shell and the playlist rearrange playlist items bug and I confirmed that its a wxWidgets + gtk3 bug. Installed filezilla ftp software that uses wxWidgets too and did a drag+drop from the file list and crashes too. I hope they fix this problem asap
just installed the latest ubuntu 12.04 and G-Shell in V-Box seems ok so far can re-arrange the playlist without crashing Guayadeque but haven't managed to turn on the sound yet!! will keep you posted :-)
