Hey there,
I just tried guayadeque and I like it very much so far. My problem is that it won't show any tracks that are either on my mobile mp3 player sansa clip+ or on the microSD card that I put into the player. I can copy tracks from my local collection to the both the player and the microSD card, but guayadeque keeps refusing to show that they are on the device. Rhythmbox displays the transferred tracks and I can listen to them without problems.

I use Guayadeque version 0.3.5- on Ubuntu 13.04 | The clip+'s firmware is up to date, V01.02.18P

In addition to that, I would like to have the clip+ and the microSD-card displayed as one device. Any idea anyone?

regards, and thank you for the great program!

Hi,
I use guayadeque for 2 weeks now. Besides of a Gstreamer problem wich I have mentioned in another thread, I have now other problems/questions:
1. A few days ago I wanted to add an album to my library and it simply didn't work. It was somehow not exepted by the track-search-funtion, even when I perfected the ID-Tags. Anyway somehow it worked then when I gave the Album (it was a sampler) a Cover. So could you please tell me the values for tracks needed for beeing noticed and added by the software.
2. After I had the same problem today again, I removed all of my songs from my library, in order to scan the whole folder later on again. Now, when I want to scan my Music-folder, there doesn't appear any of the songs in my guayadeque-library. Even after a complete reinstall of the player nothing changed. Cause of my music addiction and apart from that guayadeque beeing a pretty decent player, I'm quite desperate now. So pleeeeease help me.
Greetz
Albrecht

In an earlier thread, I vented my frustration at not being able to transfer/sync music to my ipod via Guayadeque. I was unable to achieve a resolution by from responses to this problem, however I have now sorted the problem out and all seems to be well. I thought it a good idea to share my experience in case there may be someone else who will be looking for this resolution too. As a "noob", I found the problem challenging and have thus written my solution in simple, understandable terms. If you are like me and tried several different music players and thought of (but failed) installing Rockbox firmware on your ipod to resolve the issue, read on.

Problem: I am using Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. My ipod classic 5g 80gb was unable to transfer music via Clementine. So I switched to Guayadeque and was still unable to transfer music to my ipod. When copying to the ipod, the data transfer bar would indicate that something was transferring, but the pop up box indicated that the files were transferred = 0 bytes. IE the files didn't really transfer/copy. When attempting to install Rockbox firmware onto the ipod, the ipod mount was not detected in the Rockbox Utility drop down list of devices.

Cause of the problem: After much research and trial-and-error tinkering, I discovered the cause of the issue was that my ipod was formatted to Mac. The issue is that ipods that are formatted to Apple Mac are only readable and not writeable in Linux.

Solution: Basically the ipod needs to be reformatted in FAT32 format (Windows, as opposed to Mac). The simple solution for me was to open Itunes in Windows (I'm dual booting with Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7), and reformat the ipod. Make sure that the "enable disk use" box is checked (selecting the option to manually manage the ipod will automatically check the enable disk use box and grey it out). There are other ways to do format the ipod to FAT32, but I found this to be the easiest and hassle free.

Test 1: Returning to Ubuntu, I was able to open and the ipod again and copy music successfully! Hooray! Note: only one file had shown up in my ipod library, but after 'rescanning' the ipod, the whole test album I copied across appeared.

One step further, installing Rockbox firmware: Okay, after all the frustration had been relieved at finding this solution, I thought I might take one more step in distancing myself from the Mac problem and install Rockbox firmware onto my ipod. Installing and extracting the Rockbox Utility software is quite simple. However, I encountered another problem: permission was denied. This caused me some alarm as I thought this was the key problem to getting Guayadeque to copy data across to my ipod, however the problems are different.

Instead of opening the Rockbox Utility by double clicking it, open it via XTerm. Alt+F2, Xterm. In the Xterm window, go to the folder where where you extracted the Rockbox Utility and then open the executable file via this command: sudo ./RockboxUtility. Simply install the Rockbox firmware to the device via the utility.(The post at the bottom of this thread helped: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=24800.0). Guayadeque now works better than ever with my ipod! :)

I hope this helps anyone else who encounters these issues. :)

The only way i can fix this is to go into collections in the preferences, and repoint to the path where all my music is (the path is the same as before), and then rescan my library. Rescanning my library before repointing to the path doesn't work, either. If it helps, im on ubuntu 13.04, and my storage drive (with music) is seperate from my ubuntu install drive.

Does anyone know how i can fix this?
