I don't see a point in opening new topic for each log, so I was thinking about putting them all in one. At least, all mine in one. I'm running ubuntu 12.04 with gnome shell.

It crashed in taglib. Can you verify if happens with a random file or with specific ones ? if you find a specific file that make it to crash please send it to me

Its again a crash in taglib. My guess is that its not related to guayadeque. If you can reproduce the problem with a certain file let me know to open a bug against taglib.
the file is not the same. It happens on random files and I have like 25k in the library. But since I can see on which file that happened 'cause quayadeque stays frozen I tried a couple of times to replay that file and everything was fine.

Well, I did. I mean, if all those previous logs were fine then I think I know how to do that. But in this situation "bt" does nothing, all I get is a blinking cursor in terminal. And when I go to quit the terminal it tells me that there is a process running and that closing terminal will kill it. But no matter how long I wait all I see is a blinking cursor. I just turned of player now manually and typing "bt" gives me "no stack". And that was expected because I didn't have any errors. Would I get that if guayadeque is not compiled for debugging?

but the funny thing is that I had 12.10 before, upgrade from 12.04 and I didn't have this problems. It crashed from time to time but I did a clean install yesterday and now it's pretty much unusable.
I tested guayadeque with two computers upgraded to 12.10 and seemed to work fine in both computers but I dont use Unity because I dont like it. I prefer to use other interface like xfce. But it worked in both of them without problems.

thanks, but I'm not expecting you to reply and explain each of my logs. I'm running guayadeque in debug mode and posting logs here because it's at the moment the best way I can help you with it. And I hope it helps. And I have to say that it was much better on 12.04 although my system now is much "cleaner" then 12.04 was. The only thing that is now really different is that I had to install a bunch of packages in order to get veetle running. I followed this instructions http://bhaismachine.wordpress.com/2012/06/04/watch-veetle-videos-in-hd-on-ubuntu-12-04-64-bits-using-firefox-browser/ Can some of those packages be related to that?
I had on crashes at all. Its really weird that you are getting so much segfaults. Maybe you should check some other things like ram ? It is just guayadeque the program that crashes ?
RAM is fine. Only guayadeque is the problem. When I get segfault then it is still open but it doesn't respond to anything. But sometimes (last two cases) it just disappears from the screen, all I see is terminal with what you can see there. And one other thing, when I start guayadeque I always get some errors about GTK. This....... And this about incorrect permissions. Why is that? I didn't change permissions there.

maybe it is related to gnome. But I really don't want to install any other DE. At least not on this 12.10. But I do have some spare 2.5" drive so I'll try with something else. I think I'll go with arch and again gnome shell to see if it is related to gnome.
hi i am running the latest ubuntu-gnome 12.10 with ppa's enabled with gnome-shell 3.7.2 and all the bells and whistles and having no problems with guayadeque! have you tried removing guaya and doing a fresh pull from svn?
well, the whole installation is fresh. I said that I would try it on some other distro but....... can't compile on fedora 17, the issue is already mentioned here somewhere, the same for opensuse, package names are quite different and I can't figure out which one do I need. I found some of them, but not all. I also tried arch(aic) linux but by the time I was done with installation of DE and finally get GUI my interest in arch(aic) was already gone. So I'm still on 12.10 gnome version and still with the same segfault errors. But I can try to start all over again.
OK, I'm starting all over. First, does this mean something?

OK, so I started all over again including rescanning library and configuring all the settings. Everything. And the result is that I had only one segfault since then in 4 days. Previously it was like 4 in 1 day.

I have to say that I actually very rarely control anything. In most cases all I do is select a genre and hit shuffle, that's all. And when I do use controls then I use built in controls on my laptop (vostro 3500). But I think that I found kind of pattern for segfaults. I can't reproduce them at will and maybe I just imagine things but I noticed that a lot of those segfaults happened after some longer period of playing while I wasn't doing anything else, there was something downloading sometimes but that's it. But then when I start to do something and CPU gets under some load I noticed that after currently playing song ends I get segfault. Not always but....... Maybe it's just coincidence. And since I'm talking about CPU load, I noticed something else also. When I'm extracting some large archive or encoding some video and both CPU and hard drive are under heavy load guayadeque normally goes to a next song in the playlist and the progress bar (seekbar, playbar) moves but I have no sound output. At some point (10s, 20s, 30s) sound comes back and all is fine. It's like someone pressed mute button. I even manually changed the priority of pulse audio to very high but that doesn't help. The thing that helped to reduce this behavior a lot was disabling crossfading.
you said that you won't go into this, but.......... guayadeque was playing normally, and then it stopped at the and of the track. Actually, I think that that's the time when it is supposed to go on the next track because my fade-out is set at 5s. http://i45.tinypic.com/10i7whl.jpg Meanwhile I was encoding DTS to AC3 with avidemux and saving that video. http://i49.tinypic.com/43lgg.jpg And when this was done, guayadeque resumed playing the next song in the playlist but at the ~2:45 mark. http://i47.tinypic.com/2mnjcpd.jpg And in the meanwhile it was in the state as seen on first picture.
And I think it related to hard drive busyness 'cause I have the same behavior when I'm copying a couple of large files at once to external USB. Guayadeque stops and then resumes when copying is complete.
since I updated to 1871 this morning I had 3 segfaults already. It's the same like it was prior to 1861 or so. I reported somewhere that it is OK. It was like a month ago. And since than I had only 1 segfault but today on 1871 I had 3.
