How to search for song in all collections at once?

I do have several collections set up in Guayadeque (e.g. local disk, external disk). If I don't know which collection a song is in I am searching for this song in each collection separately by selecting it one by one in the main window.
How to search for a song in all collections at once?

Im afraid this is not possible

As a work around would it work to create another collection including the songs of all other collections? This master-collection could then be used for global searches. Or would it cause problems to have songs in more than one collection simultaneously?

How does that work with smart mode, having a collection of all the normal collections? Does smart mode work by collection or all collections at once?
Sorry I know I have probably asked before but I never really understood it. -
Smartmode search only in the collections the current track comes from or the default collection if was played from no collections.
