just curious about the volume button

this is somewhat irrelevant perhaps, but I thought I'd ask.

is there a reason why the default volume level in guayadeque is set at 50% rather than 100% ? Is it simply to protect our ears :-)? or does changing the volume level to 100% invoke some extra command in (gstreamer) playback?

Its just that I want that you can listen to what its playing but dont want to damage your ears or speakers :)
Anyway once you set the volume the software should keep the setting between sessions.
