Collections and filters
  • So now I use two collections most of the time: it turns out that the Allow and Deny filters always use the main collection playlists even when the other collection is in focus. Guayadeque should use the playlists of the collection in focus as filters.

    Thanks
  • It uses the main collection filters even when its applied to the collection it is currectly used. The problem is that you can have tracks from different collections in the now playing playlist
  • I can see the advantages some times of having them mixed. This is my setup: one collection for classical music -that requires a composer-album-artist orden- and all the rest in other collection -any other music works on a artist-album setup.

So the playlists asociated to them are very different. Basicaly the musics don't overlap at all.

I think the multiple collections idea is very flexible, and will adapt to very different personal setups, but the ideas are incompatible: either it is good for them to mix up or it doesn't work at all.

I've no idea from a technical point of view, but from a user point of view it makes lots of sense to have a preference setting that you can set off/on for the collections to be mixed.....
  • Sorry, I don't understand, what should that option do?

Multiple collections is a great thing to have, but it make things that used to be simple with one collection not so straightforward. For instance, I'd like to be able to tell the SmartMode to choose tracks from some of my collections (and not only the current one), but not from others.
But luckily anonbeat has always an eye on performance.
  • An option for Allow/Deny filters to be either global or for/from the collection in focus and for Smart/Random play to be either global or for/from the collection in focus.
